Francesco Moretti was born in Pisa in 1973.
He received his diploma in 1992 at the Liceo Artistico Statale di Lucca. From 1993 to 1997 he attended the painting school of Prof.G. Ulivi at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence and in 1997 he obtained a Diploma of Painting with a distinction.
His dissertation was on Frank Stella. He works with painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, engraving, installation, video and decoration of rooms. There are several collaborations with Italian and foreign artists, among the most significant ones, with Keith Haring. He has exhibited in 10 solo and 22 group exhibitions, held in galleries, museums, public spaces and social centres in Italy, Greece, France and Switzerland.
He presented his videos in international festivals in Italy and abroad. He worked in the decoration of interiors for private and public spaces in Switzerland, Italy and Greece. He took care of both light and stage design in film and theatre. He curated the organization of various artistic events, the most significant exhibition "Signs of the Road" for the city of Pisa and the Municipality of San Bernardo. His works are in public spaces and private collections in Italy, Switzerland and Greece. One of his works is part of the permanent collection of the Folk Museum of Peloponnese, Greece. Since 2005 he lives and works in Nafplio in Greece.
